Anyone use a CATWEASEL MK4 (PCI)?
« on: March 17, 2009, 06:17:00 AM »
I am looking at this to read/write Amiga floppies on my PC.  I run Vista 64 Enterprise and wonder if this will work fine with Vista?  I won't go back to XP due to software my job requires me to run - so I am looking for a testimonial to whether this works.  (And before you say build another box for XP- note I have to fight to keep room for my Amigas in the house - so adding another PC isn't an option unless XP under Virtual Box could see it!)

Thanks
Mike Valverde

Hi,

There don't appear to be any Windows x64 drivers for the Catweasel, and there also don't appear to have been any announcements saying there will ever be any, which is a bit unfortunate.

I guess you could dual-boot your existing machine - and XP drivers for your existing hardware should be easy to find.

I've intentionally kept an x86 XP machine for this purpose, and for other hardware that I can't use under either Vista x64 or Ubuntu x64...
