Can you ping the PC from the Amiga or vice versa? If so, you can go ahead installing ml_ftpd from Aminet. Further questions are purely software related, so ask those in the software section.

l found this very unit my modem or router dont have this 15 pin aui connector but the quicknet card does l belive so l assume l can conect directr to the amiga card itself then run
a cable to my switch

Yes, the transceiver connects directly to the AUI port and then you've got a TP port like the rest.
Transceivers exist for various media types, the one you need is called TP, twisted pair, RJ45 or 10BaseT; they start as low as $1 on ebay, CentreCOM 210TS are very cheap around here. Don't get one of the Apple flavor, they've got "mini-AUI" and won't fit.

 Just one tip about software "cure" for boards that not respond to commands: download and install enforcer from Aminet and issue enforcer from the very beginning of startup-sequence.

 No need to use the debugging tools.
