Syquest trouble
« on: March 10, 2009, 11:01:38 PM »
A Syquest drive that has worked fine first started getting noisy -- as if was spinning and very slightly rubbing -- and is now sometimes not recognized as being there at all. I think it's the drive, not the tape, but...?

What model SyQuest?
If it's an EZ 135, some of those cartridges don't have any metal in the drive hub - They are all plastic. The plastic can wear and cause a problem like you have.
