We are NOT talking about that card.

1240/1260 ! = 4040/4060

You're out by 2800 ;-)

@scuzzb494

The 1240/60 can be a little fussy with certain motherboard revisions, but should be rock solid otherwise. (Mine is great... I just don't understand all the Apollo hating.;-)) Adding power to the floppy connector does help.

@Palm

Did you try different RAM, or disabling the RAM (jumper) and see if it boots?

Yeah, I tried that. I took out the RAM and took ou the RAM jumper.

It annoys me that it won't boot. Really irritating :)

I have wiggled things too, but no luck. I took the 060 a little out of the socket (2-3 mm) and pushed it back in. did the same for the EEPROM. Still dead.

Aargghh....

Hi

Whoops.. :-) Apollo, problems, dimming light... and I just reflected on the problems I have had with Apollo cards. Never mind... I'll shut up.

I had the same issue with my 3040 last week. In the end, I think it was just a bad connection. Check how the Apollo fits in the CPU slot, and possibly clean the connectors.

Like I said before if you have no luck resurrecting it, do not bin it. I'd like to buy it for spare parts.

I sold my A4000 :-) to finance a MiniMig and some other stuff. I did keep the 060 card, though. So maybe someone else kan try to get it working. I know it "works" because I have gotten it to boot into early startup a few times. It must be a bad connector somehwre, but I have no A4000 mobo to test it with anymore. Sad, cause it is a nice board and with 66MHz upgraded chipset (mach chips have 66 written on them) and a 66mhz xtal.

Someone, give me an offer and pay me via Paypal, and I will happily sell it to someone who will take good care of it and have the skills to fix it.

I won´t sell below €50, though.
