Computing Industry, Web 2.0, and The Wet Floor Effect
« on: March 01, 2009, 04:00:38 PM »
Is it just me or am I seeing every computer company, web site, blog, service show off their logos, graphics, art in
a wet floor effect.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wet_floor_effect

Yes, this was popularized by iTunes & iPhone, but it seems that everyone is using it and it is now overkill. Too Flashy.

The New Amiga OS 4.1 is somewhat following this mantra.

Personally, I don't like the Wet Floor Effect, but old-school 80s, 90s, and even early 00s computer graphics.

Any of you sick and tired of the Wet Floor effect.
Vent them here. I know I am

I think the art style that should be brought back is the old school style of Sega Genesis Logo, or hand drawn psygnosis logo for web 3.0 and the next generation of computers.
WinUAE enthusiast.

Curious about: Amiga OS, Morph OS, X-Amiga, Amikit, Amiga Forever, WinUAE, Efika, Minimig,
and other forms Amiga-like Computers.
