Jumper settings for GVP Impact A2000-SCSI+8
« on: January 02, 2008, 08:43:28 PM »
Hello, the board is this one:
http://amiga.resource.cx/photos/impact2000scsi8

but even if that web site hosts high-res photos of a lot of boards, the one I need is low res :-( and I am not able to properly see the jumpers.
The board I have is without jumpers and the Early Startup Menu reports it as "defective".

I know exactly which board you're both on about now, the predecessor to the HD+8 SCSI2 board.  I've searched high and low on the interweb and see what you both mean...no info anywhere.  Why don't you do a little trial and error with the jumpers, it's what I'd do and I'm sure you'll not damage anything.  Not gonna be that many combinations.

Edit: and once you've found the settings post them here  ;-)

NO NO NO NO!!

Even if a Jumper Says "Free Sex & Free Beer", DO NOT ENABLE IT UNLESS YOU KNOW WHAT THE CONSEQUENCES ARE: :-o

Try contacting Ralph Babel here: Linky
He might be able to offer some reliable advice.  ;-)

@stanlong: Hiya. I have tried during my many years as an Amigan - and succeeded.  From the linked image would I be correct in saying that there are just 4 jumpers for memory configuration at the bottom centre of the card?  Seriously, it's just memory allocation, nothing is going to blow as long as you remember to power off the Amiga between jumper changes. Ahh gone are the days of the pioneering Amigan - He Who Dares....

Good look mate, and remember - have fun, it's what it's all about.
