Escom/Amiga Tecnologies * REV * ???
« on: December 03, 2008, 05:24:27 PM »
Hello,

I am always wondering what are the Board Revisions of the Amiga 1200 by ,the one we can find in the Magic Pack with the nice Logo.
In my experience I had 2 Amiga with Magic Pack and one was 1 D4 and the other was 2B.

Do you know what revisions has been manifactured by Escom /AT?

Thanks

Did they manufacture any new pcb's for A1200s or did they just put together parts that were left over from what C= had produced?
How are you helping the Amiga community? :)

Sorry, I can't help with your actual query but if memory serves they used PC driver that were downgraded to DS/DD which led to loading issues with some software.

Surely they would have had to manufacture something as C= can't have had that much in the way of parts lying around?

Love the avatar btw.

I read that they restart production lines for the A1200 + 4000T.  This was really hard because and old Commodore guys and equipment had moved on (along with most of the specs!). They actaully did a bloody good job restarting 1200 and then 4000 production considering everything, they also seriously considered restarting CD32 production (the Playstation killed that idea off).
Life begins at 100 MIPS!

Nice Ports on AmiNet!

I think Escom's A1200s where made in Burdeaux(France).

When I buyed mine the motherboard was defective. The motherboard was changed and the new one was incompatible with the FDD. AT send to my SAT a small board to connect betwen the motherboard and the FDD.

I think my last motherboard was 1D4 but I'm not sure.

The Escom 1200s were definitely new boards. I think the factory was in France, if I'm remembering an old press conference report correctly.

Don't know about board revisions, though.

Being that they were the last produced, it is relatively safe to assume them to be 2B.

They all have the Commodore logo but if you have the Escom type you will have differrent barcode sticker, birthdate of 95xx somewhere and maybe some chips with Amiga Tech logo.
