Mounting thumb drives with deneb
« on: November 16, 2008, 06:58:45 AM »
I finally got 3.1 working, although I couldn't use the install disk because of a lack of good floppy disks.  So I just copied the wb3.1 disk to the hard drive.  Hope that's good enough.

Silly me, I assumed mounting thumb drives would be automatic with deneb.  Looks like it's not.  I can see it in psddevlister.  But no desktop icon.  And I'm not sure how to mount it.  What am I missing?

Is it FAT-formatted? If so, have you installed fat95?
It's in the extras drawer of the poseidon installation drawer.

The poseidon installer said that it was installing fat95 so I originally thought it was there.  But when I checked it wasn't.  When you run one of the installs from the deneb, it tells you that it's better to run the os 3.9 installer because it fixes some bugs that make it miss some files.  So maybe we have an explanation for that.  I've decided to reinstall all of os3.1 from scratch in winuae plus install that and some other things that would have been useful here.  i.e., trident is complaining about muisomething.library missing.

The poseidon installer only unpacks the archives in the extras drawer. You have to start the installation yourself after the poseidon installation has finished (just like you have to install MUI, but MUI is not included in the poseidon installation).
