BVision display of 15KHz screens

The BVision in the A1200 I'm using seems to display native 15KHz screenmodes. For example, when I'm on the Kickstart screen or the early startup screen, I can see this both on the TV connected to the composite output, and also on the VGA monitor connected to the BVision. How does it do this? Nothing is connected to the custom chips, so where is it getting the 15KHz signal from?

There is a setting in the BPPC boot menu to force 31khz boot screens. Id wager that you have that enabled. Press and hold ESC during boot to check.

afaik the firmware copies the contents of chip memory to the gfx card. It won't show demoscene stuff.

yep, it uses the ppc to copy chipmem contents to bvision/g-rex vgas... very handy!
