Have you tested the drive to make sure the rubber components are OK?

No, if I tested the drive it would not be new and would show signs of usage. This has been stored in it's original packaging in storage. The rubber components should be fine.

one testing will not show any sign of usage, untested=broken.

Brand new = brand new. I've been selling on eBay for 10 years, I know what many customers look at. If I state it is new, the customer gets it and takes a magnifying glass to inspect the DB25 connectors and sees the scuff marks on the the connectors, immediately I get a negative feedback and accused of being a fraud.

If you are not comfortable, do not bid. Period.

On schneider CPC / PCW Joyce 3" drives, the disc spindle is connected to the drive motor by a rubber Ribbon. This Ribbon ages weather it has been in used or not. Every 3" drive has a replacement ribbon by now for sure.

Not sure if something like that applies to the A3070 as well but as other have said before I'm confindent it will be worked out easyly if there would be such a problem.

I also have an identical used unit that was stored under the same conditions. I will be personally using the used unit soon. I am waiting on a Dataflyer 1200 SCSI+ to come in the mail. This should be a good indication. I suspect it will be fine, if not I will update the auction listing.

WOW!!!

This is awesome!  I want BOTH the UNIX and the tape drive like badly.  I just have to see how hard it will be to quickly source the remaining required pieces and a clean A3000 to pack the stuff into.

I have really wanted to see a working A3000/UX for a log time and if I can get one clean and going.
