i have a blizz 1240 on its way to me with many thanks to lockon_15,
and from the pictures it looks like i have a DCE version on its way....
now the DCE board for the blizzard 1260 seems to have a few less componants on it than the phase5 version. especially around the voltage regulator area.
from what i can tell, the DCE version only has an LT1585 regulator, no stabalising caps, and obviously, and the power jumper being fed from the 3.3v output from the regulator as opposed the 5v feed.
now, for me to upgrade this board to an 060, it seems i just need to swap the 040 for the 060, clip the 5v feed, solder the regulator in place, and solder the 3.3v output to the Vcc in? i'm not entirly happy as this seems to be missing a few steps and componants...
can anyone give me any ideas? am i doing it correctly? as this looks like all DCE have done..
