Doesn't it just???

I'd love to see them up close and personal, running the same game for comparison.

One thing that does worry me about the Pandora is the apparent lack of readily available software, particularly on the emulator side. I know from a forum post here but it does seem to me as if everything just isn't quite there yet.

I think I'll wait until both the Pandora and the GP2X Wiz are readily available (both are on pre-order only - 6-8 weeks waiting time) and established before making up my mind.

There are quite a few developer boards out there. I've read that porting existing GP2x (FN200 etc..) software should be quite easy, plus it runs Linux so a whole host of linux software will work on it.

I have bought the GP 32 and the GP2x but won't buy this one or the Pandora.

My next light mobile games machine will be an Asus Eee 901. I think I will get a lot more usage out of that.

The Pandora and 901 are in different classes. You can't put the 901 in your pocket and you can't run Windows XP on the Pandora. The 901 doesn't have built in gaming controls, the Pandora isn't indended to be used for typing for long periods... I could go on.

it will be just a recompile for gp2x software mostly. its all just linux + sdl etc.

pandora + wiz + gp2x are all just arm devices.

on gp2x its all statically linked, on wiz afaik its all dynamic linking.

I'd wait until they fix the xyab buttons from being a craptastic dpag before I'd think of  purchasing one.
