Current flicker solutions for the A2000/2500
« on: September 06, 2008, 09:28:34 PM »
Hey guys,

After searching through the forums for answers, I wanted to find out what viable solutions there still are today.  I've got an A2500 and would like to use a modern LCD monitor with it, but still maintain compatibility to play some A500 games.

AmigaKit offered an external solution at one time "Indivision Scandoubler/Flicker Fixer (External)" for $178.14, but they're no longer in stock?

Softhut had a ToastScan, but I read a person who said the picture was awful.

rjrtty@aol.com apparently builds these for $65? Is he still doing this and has anyone received one yet?

Red, you got anything?

Thanks!!

Chris

Have you got color composite out?

If so you could feed the signal to a cheap eBay 'TV Box' which will convert the signal into something a modern monitor can accept through VGA and fix the flicker.
Life begins at 100 MIPS!

Nice Ports on AmiNet!

You can try looking for a Flicker Blaster 2000. I bought mine from Amigakit. Failing that, I was looking for a box that could convert RGB into VGA. This link shows such a box, but don't know if it would work with the Amiga or if it would solve the flicker problem .
