Amiga Forever EEEPC: Which should I run permanently?
« on: August 17, 2008, 04:24:48 PM »
I have an ASUS EEE PC 4G with Microsoft Windows XP and I'm planning to transform it into a modern Intel based Amiga Box. Below is my architecture diagram of Amiga EEE PC.
(Diagram Similar to Apple's OS X Architecture)

Luna Interface, AF Interface
--------------------------------------
Amiga Forever 2006 and 2008
--------------------------------------
Workbench Services (1.3, 2.0, 3.1) | Amiga Games
--------------------------------------
Open Source Layer: WinUAE 1.5.1 | AmiKit Services |
WinAROS | AIAB
--------------------------------------
Windows XP OS (NT 5.1) | I/O
--------------------------------------
ASUS EEE Hardware

I currently have Amiga Forever 2006 and recently got Amiga Forever 2008. Since Amiga Forever only installs on the C: Drive, I cannot install AF2008 without wiping out AF2006.

Is there a way to keep both on the same system.

Does AF2008 have all the ROMs from 500 -> 4000 and is AF2008 more stable and less buggy than 2006.
WinUAE enthusiast.

Curious about: Amiga OS, Morph OS, X-Amiga, Amikit, Amiga Forever, WinUAE, Efika, Minimig,
and other forms Amiga-like Computers.

I am sure there must be a way, but don't see any reason to do so.

Yes and Yes.

My advice is to just go ahead with the AF2008 install.
How are you helping the Amiga community? :)

I think my install asked if it writes onto the old installation. I gave another path and have two installs - at least launchers. Haven't checked if they use the same system files. WinUAE versions are at least different.
