What's wrong with CacheCDFS?
« on: July 06, 2008, 04:46:46 AM »
There's something missing but I can't put my finger on it.

I just installed OS3.9 on my A3000D. I also recently got ImageFX 4.5 studio, and upon opening the window, no icons were visible. I started CacheCDFS, but, for some reason, everything is ghosted, and CD0: is not listed in the window in the upper left even though its in DEVS/DOSDRIVERS and my CD drive works normally. The last time this problem happened, I just had to tweek CacheCDFS a little and that solved the problem, but you can't change anything now. How weird.

All the settings in the CacheCDFS Prefs tool can be adjusted by editing the DOSDriver. I have no idea what's what, though.

If CacheCDFS prefs don't list CD0, then CD0 does not use CacheCDFS. You probably copied the older CD0 from Storage/DosDriver. This one points to L:CDRomFileSystem, not to CacheCDFS. Load CD0 into a text editor and check it. If if does not point to CacheCDFS, you should reinstall the CD driver from the OS 3.9 CD (it's too difficult to recreate the CacheCDFS mountlist manually).

Bye,
Thomas

Thomas was correct. I dumped the CD0: copied the other from the 3.9CD, set the unit number, and it works nicely now. It was great to see the ImageFX icon pop up and all the options work normally. Thanks buddy.
