Dataflyer SCSI 4000+ and A1200...
« on: June 17, 2008, 08:18:21 PM »
Hi,

I have just received a card as for the subject.
Before making and damage... does it work with an A1200 (in a tower)?
I have obviously an IDE cable 44 pin => 40 pin...
I think I could install the A4000 drivers...

Has anybody already done this?

 I did!

 Works OK, some glitches sometimes (maybe caused by my f#$@%ing Apollo 1240).

 Works flawlessly with with my old Microbotics M1230XA (030+FPU+128Mb RAM).

 BTW: the SCSI+ (the software for A4000) is exactly the same as the Dataflier1200 SCSI software.
Goodbye people.

I\'ll pop on from time to time, RL is acting up.

Ok... the card works (I noticed that if I install the A4000 drivers the Amiga hangs!!!)
And I cannot see the IDE CD-ROM (the only one I have)!!!
I tried with the ExpSomething.device (now I cannot remember the name of the device) but nothing seen. The scsi.device hangs the Amiga...
What can I do?
HD=master
CD=slave

 You are using the CD and IDE HD after the SCSI board? You need also to install the board and add it to your s-s. Mine works OK, albeit slowly with ROM3.1.

mumble, mumble...
Yes... I have the HD AND the CD after the card! So that they are SCSI 0 (I think the HD, master) and SCSI 1.
I have installed the driver and I see the external HD! :)
But... how for the CDs... :(((
Can paste your mountlist for the CD (CD#)?

Thank you

Using an IDE CD drive with a Dataflyer attached should be just like using an IDE CD drive without a Dataflyer attached. IE, unit 1, and the device either being atapi.device from the IDEFix package, or asim_atapi.device from AsimCDFS.

Mine worked as a SCSI controller in an A1200 with a bus board before.

It's a very crap card. Like dog-shit it's everywhere. A very old A500 design that popped up time and time again in new clothes.

 My DVD-RW is set as atapi.device unit 1 via IDEfix97. I rename the icon to CD0:, but internally it is more like "CD1:"...

 And like Alexh said, the board is an old SCSI controller without DMA, nor boot ROM. It mount SCSI devices only after the startup-sequence.

Mine has a boot ROM but I can't get it to work.
