So I hooked my A1200 up to an old apple ColorMonitor IIe which has a composite input, thinking this was a great way to get the system away from my LCD TV and the inevitable clutter that surrounds it. I had noticed when it was attached to the LCD that there was a band of unused space on all four sides of the amiga display. The same thing happens with the Apple monitor, only the Amiga uses only about the center _quarter_ of the screen... I do NOT want to adjust the monitor, it is old enough to probably die soon with messing about with it like that, and it is a pain to get right anyway, iirc. My question is, is this behavior normal for the composite output on the 1200, and is there anything I can do about it on the Amiga side of the cable? Maybe I need to use a different setting? I'm reluctant to just start trying different combinations of settings lest I damage the display.

Double-click on System/Prefs/Overscan and set the screen the way you like more. Click on "use" to test, "save" to, erm, save the parameters.
Goodbye people.

I\'ll pop on from time to time, RL is acting up.
