Wanted: A4000 CPU card with RAM or Zorro III RAM card
« on: May 22, 2008, 08:35:50 AM »
I've got an A4000 with 16+2MB of SIMMs (max on-board) and a crappy 8MB Zorro II card (max on Zorro II) and I'd like to get more RAM in this so it can become my primary Amiga.

I'd like to get it in the range of 64-128MB at least. That means I need either a Zorro III RAM card or better yet a CPU board with SIMM sockets. If a CPU board, I don't want a PPC board... I just want a 680x0. A 68030+FPU would be plenty, though I wouldn't turn down an 040 or 060 either.

I'm willing to pay or trade. I've got plenty of spare Amiga parts including 2 whole A2000 systems, with accelerator... An internal flicker fixer/scan doubler for A1200/A4000... various expansion boards of all sorts... some A1200 motherboards... if there's anything in particular, ask. Not really trying to sell any of this stuff currently, but would make a fair trade.

Send me a private message with any trade proposals or prices if you've got something that'll help me get more memory in this thing!

There are no 030 boards.

Your cheapest solution is to buy a Fastlane ZIII SCSI card and fit 64Mbytes of RAM.

Next cheapest is an Apollo 3040/4040 these are not the best accelerator and that is reflected in the price. But it can take upto 128Mbytes of RAM.

The DKB3128 is more expensive, 128Mbytes of RAM. They are rarer but come on ebay Once in a while

Beyond this you are into the Cyberstorm territory and prices go nuts very quickly.
