A4000 battery
« on: August 13, 2003, 12:29:46 PM »
I bought an A4000 in Ateo tower awhile ago. The battery hasn't leaked yet, but where can I get a new one? Is it some special Amiga thingy, or can it be bought somewhere easily? Or can I just remove it without replacing it with anything?  :-?

It's not an Amiga thing.

half length AA, 3.6V would be the thing to look for.

By the way, what would happen if I just remove the battery without replacing a new one? Is it just for the clock?

Yes, the battery is for an h/m/s d/m/y clock only; system timing is handled by the system (e.g., CPU) clock and since all hardware is PnP, there is no CMOS setting to lose.
Back away from the EU-SSR!

Daytona Industries, Inc.
Part No. COMP-16-3P

This battery is a suitable replacement and can usually be found at Radio Shack.

Other models:

AT&T - 6300, 6300+
COMPUTERLAND - BC88, 286
HYUNDAI - SUPER 16TE

Hope this helps.
