I don't remember the XBox-1, but I'll google it and check it out.

An X-BOX1 (not 360) soft-mod to run XBMC + HDTV component cable.

Cost = £30

It is the cheapest, and IMHO the best HTPC you can get.

It's getting a little long in the tooth and yes in 1080i modes it's 733MHz CPU and 64Mbytes of RAM make it a little slow but in 720p it's still excellent.

I think you've essentially just described the AppleTV... :-?

I think he was talking about the original XBox with no numbers after it.

X-box with XBMC looks cool and the price is great.  Just this once, I'm going modern.

In addition to my fascination with Amiga and it's OS, I have collected a number of old technologies: vinyl records, reel-to-reel, Betamax, VHS, tube radios, etc.  Ok, I don't have 8-tracks.  Anyway, too many old formats drives the family crazy, grin.

With the new broadcast standard, I want to play any format at any resolution upto 1080p.  This will be top of the heap for only a short time anyway.  In 10 more years, ppl will throw out their old LCDs to watch their movies on 3-dimensioal screens.

.

XBMC is without a doubt the most polished media player available for any platform.

You said it... and it just works, you get everything from Itunes trailers, free online gaming, radio stations, and it plays every format a 733 meg p4 can handle.

UAEX Amiga Emu is great. I have 2 usb converters that allow Keyboard and mouse usage. System 3 in installed on mine.

I have all my games on the hard drive as well. Just a great deal all around. Since 2003 this became my main game machine and still is, gets the most use.

I Play the following systems:
Amiga, Sega Genesis/32x, Master system, Nintendo 8 bit, 16 bit, 64, Turbograhix16, Gameboy advance, MAme, Capcom Arcade, Playstation 1, Atari 2600, & ColoecoVision, All of this on a 320 GB drive.

Gotta agree, I've just got my GF an xbox for £20 from game, then softmodded it (a lot easier than I thought) and it's all set up and good to go.

Well worth doing, because for the money it's unbeatable.

I've been to a few other GAME stores to see if there are any more £20 boxes but they have none left :(
