Configuring CyberGraphx v4
« on: April 06, 2008, 07:34:30 PM »
I happend to find the CyberGraphx v4 cd (from the previous owner) and installed it through the patch disk which came with it. It says: Update V4.1 (V42_r1).
I also installed gtlayout.library v47.1 (as there was a note in the cd box that the installed version was an old v43-version) and ofcourse installed the original Cybergraphics64 driver.

So now here I am having workbench still through the RGB port (I don't have my scandoubler cable yet so I'm working with an RGB > Scart cable on an old TV) and the colourful CyberGraphX logo on the VGA monitor.

In ScreenMode I can't select the CyberGraphic/CyberGraphx at all, just the RGB port modes.

Could anybody help me out on this? I'd like to have like an 800x600 or 1024x768 Workbench screen and do everything on the VGA monitor.

Run CGXMode (in Prefs) and try to create a screenmode which works on your monitor. Save the screenmode, reboot, and then select it from ScreenMode prefs.

I did several times but the mode never comes on ScreenMode, there I only find the normal RGB related modes like 640x256, 640x512 interlaced and so on.

There are only 6 modes listed and none of them are CyberGraphx modes.

Also on TEST mode it says "can't open test screen" while the CyberGraphX logo is shown on the VGA monitor...

You need a newer patch to get CGX to work with BB2 - do a search.

I needed the latest update from here:

http://phase5.a1k.org/index.php?id=0

It was the only one that worked (found 2 other updates too) and it seems to work fine now, now find some modes for my monitor that it displays right ;-)

I've got a Cybervision 3D card in my 4000D.

I gave up with the original Cybervision software. I couldn't get it to install correctly  :madashell:

I actually finished up using the Picasso96install off the OS3.9 CD. It worked a treat without any problems once I'd got the screen resolution of my monitor worked out.

Have you tried that?

Be absolutely 100% sure about your Monitors MAXIMUM Horizontal  & Vertical frquencies, otherwise, you could end up with a blown monitor.  ;-)

I've got my card hooked up to anold Dell Monitor.

When I pick a wrong display it just tells me 'Can't display' or something like that

Which is better CyberGraphX4, or Picasso96 from the OS3.9 CD?

Edit: Using Nokia 447W 15" monitor

What the...? Bumping a topic within a few hours? I don't think that will give you a quicker answer...
