My A4000 has to go
« on: March 05, 2008, 09:36:37 PM »
I really hate to do this but my A4000 must go.. I've had to choose between it and my A3000.

I would like to sell it to someone local if possible as I'm based in Australia. I'm writing this from work so I'm not 100% clear on the spec's, will confirm and update them when I get home tonight.

1960 Monitor + RGB adapter
A3640 - I think it's 25MHZ ( capacitors look good, no evidence of SMD leakage ).
KS 3.0
WB 3.1 installed
All other specs like the amount of FAST RAM needs to be verified.

Known issues.

1. Machine sometimes comes up with yellow flashing screen, goes away when you re-seat or pushing down on components inside ( connections probably need a good clean )

2. RTC does not work although there is no leakage and the battery was replaced.

3. Faceplate has yellowed a little

Everything else works fine, sound , joysticks and IO.

It just needs a good home. I don't believe in ebay anymore. Photo's to come soon.

Dragster, I'd rather sell the A4000 as a complete system but in the event that the buyer doesn't want the display then I can sell the 1960's separately, I have two.  These run off 240vac here in Australia,  in the right hands they can be converted to run off 120v.

One is like in new condition which I use for my A3000, the display is shaky ( jumps around sometimes which can be annoying ). The other has some marks on it and has some scratches, one of the controls is not working ( will have to confirm which one it is ). They both look great through the A3000's built in scandoubler & flicker fixer but not so good in the A4000.

I might just get an LCD for the A3000, I'd be interested in a swap.

@57goldtop

Well, if you decide to sell the one that is in 'like new' condition, please let me know. If you use it for the Amiga 3000 you can use an LCD or something like that because of its internal Scandoubler/flickerfixer.

I want one of these monitors for my A500 and A600... the GFX card-capable machines I have use a modern monitor...

Thanks!

Based in Wollongong, pickup is fine.

I still don't know what price I want to sell, what are these worth in light of this particular a4000 having a broken RTC and some yellowing ?

I was thinking $400-$500 AUD

Is that reasonable ?
