Simple iff to anim creator?
« on: March 08, 2008, 07:20:12 AM »
Is there a simple cli program that converts a series of iffs labeled as pic_1001, pic_1002 etc to anim.  Buildanim creates the anim but for some reason it creates 704x512 LOW res anims that should be a hi-res interlaced anim from 704x512 hires laced frames?

Is memory serves, DPaintIV offered a multiple image loading that would automagically be formed into an Anim... Though it has been at least 13 years since I would have used such a feature :-)

The simplest one I know is SCALA MM300 or MM400
CD32 is actually the best Amiga ever made by Commodore!...

How did you do this?  I am using adorage to create the files , which it saves as pic.1001, pic.1002, pic.1003 etc.  I can't get scala to make an animation out of them.  Would a step by step guide be too much to ask? I use MM400.

@stefcep

Its excrutiatingly easy, but I do understand it might not be obvious.

Load SCALA...select the SYSTEM button at the lower right.....then on the menu that apears select ANIMATION (I think thats what it says?) at the top right highest button you can select. From there you have oprions how to save your script....images, animations. Click on the buttons on the right and they change names to let you select what you want.

For example anim formats from Anim5, anim8 etc..

Select on the left where the frames are.......the button belwo it lets you select where to save the final anim. Select to have Optimize pallete as SAME and FS dithering as SAME or NONE

if it doesnt work still, I think it may be because of the names of your pic frames...........change them and leave no spaces inbetween the names

Thats what I have been doing but it just loads the first frame and resaves that single frame as an anim.  I was able to load the anim created by buildanim which scala plays back as a low res overscan anim, even though the frames were originallly hires laced.  Interestingly viewtek and biganim play the same anim correctly, but not scala even in anim8 format.  I even emailed the author of biganim.  I can however load the anim made fron the individual frames by buildanim into animlab on scala and change its resolution and format.  So eventually I got there.  Ideally I'd like scala to either create the anim from the frames OR playback the anim made by buildanim in the correct resolution (buildanim button via Dopus is faster).  I'll play with the frame numbering and see how I go.
