Help needed with new version of AmRSS
« on: March 07, 2008, 04:39:39 AM »
Hi all,

I'm experiencing problems with the new version of AmRSS.  I've also d/led the latest MCC_TheBar archive, as well, needed for it.  Here's my problem:

1) When I've chosen a feed, then clicked on the "Update" button, the feed gets read in with all the articles & then I get the dreaded "Waiting for Disk Activity" error, "Suspend" or "Reboot" are my only choices.

2) When I go to the drop-down menu & select the "Help" option, the program freezes; not the pointer, though.  I can't close the program or do anything with it.

I'm suspecting problems with the MUI Custom Class of HTMLview.  Is it possible the author didn't test this on a non-PPC Amiga?

I'm running an NTSC A1200 with a Blizzard 1260, Fast SCSI-2 daughter card, Subway, Elbox 1200 MK III FastATA EIDE controller, with OS 3.9BB2 & 128 megs of RAM.

Has any non-PPC Amigan d/led the latest version of AmRSS & got it running OK??   :-?

The previous version worked OK for me.

Hi,

I have AmRss 5.57 (I think is the latest) and downloaded the new The_Bar MUI class a couple of days ago. I just tried it now, for the 1st time since getting the new The_Bar and it works fine here.

I did have trouble initially with MUI libs, because there has been a few uploaded to Aminet in the past month or so. I advise checking that you have these installed also.

Is your accelerator a Blizzard 1260 (non-PPC) or a 060/PPC accelerator?

I did go through the documentation and inspect each & every library & MCC that it uses to ensure that I had the latest & greatest versions.  That didn't help, either.

It's non-ppc :(

No, you need to go to Aminet and search for the latest MUI libs.
