Yes, you have to do some tricks to get the memory configured. Use a program like FastExec to to this because the bundled software does not work with later versions of the OS (3.x). Once you get it configured, it is an excellent card. I probably still have my settings around somewhere...

I bought one of these in the late '90s for about $200 and sold it a few years later for about the same amount when I upgraded. It is probably worth at least the same amount now with the shortage of accelerators out there.

thanks, valuable info...

hadn't tried it on other then the 2.1 2000 it was in so knowing about FastExec is a plus if I let it go.

found it on aminet at:

http://aminet.net/util/boot/FastExec29.lha

I may just list it on ebay this afternoon if I can manage to get a pic.

unless someone wants to offer me $150-200 for it.

I've got one guy considering it who I sold a monitor to a while ago so unless someone raises their hand soon I'm thinking it's future is on ebay.

; )

Sincerely,

If it was a Zeus I would say $150-200.  For a normal PP&S 040 probably $100.
Time to move on.  Bye Amiga.org.  :(

I dunno...I'd say a Zeus was worth more than $200.

guess it depends on what you're looking for.

to the person who messaged me privately on the '030 card I sent you a response privately...just mentioning because I know everyone doesn't check their messages but may get email when new posts are on threads.

A3640s are a bad example.  They are problematic.
And no one with an A3000D in it's original case is going to buy one (unless of course they run their A3000D outside around here in January), so the market is smaller.

I have to disagree here .......
I gave my wife an A3000D/16mhz with an A3640 card for
gaming a couple years ago. Runs great..no problems.

BTW .. I think I payed $45 US for the Rev 3.1 card

Have you made sure your capacitors are installed correctly?  Also, how did you overcome the heat issue?  I've put A3640s in several A3000s, and I always had to cut holes and/or add fans.  More heat than a Derringer 030/50 on top of a MegaChip!

@sprocket

Here are the argumnets that I used with Fastexec to configure 32MB of memory...

C:FastEXEC ADDMEM 0x8000000 0x200000 5 10 ADDMEM 0x8400000 0x1C00000 5 10 ADDRESS 0x8000000 FASTEXP FASTSSP FASTVBR FASTMEM FASTINT CACHE 0x80001111 REBOOT

I can't remember if this was the latest & greatest that I used; it was a long time ago.

This goes just prior to SetPatch in the startup-sequence.

I just bought a GVP G-Force 040 for $150.00 with 16Mb of RAM. I paid too much, but had broken the 030 card that was in the A2000 I use.(my dog is getting expensive - long story)
Prices are nuts these days. They can change on a daily basis! Personally, If I was to list it on eBay, I would use a $150.00 buy it now/best offer and see what happens.
A2000 GVP 40MHz \'030, 21Mb RAM SD/FF, 2 floppies, internal CD-ROM drive, micromys v3 w/laser mouse
A1000 Microbotics Starboard II w/2Mb 1080, & external floppy (AIRdrive)
C-128 w/1571, 1750, & Final Cartridge III+

yeah, that's sort of what I'm thinking...maybe even a few dollars more assuming someone interested would make an offer.

fyi...

several hits on the counter, a few watchers, one offer for the full amount if I could accept his Money Order...unfortunately, the reason I'm clearing this stuff out is I could use the funds pdq and Paypal is the quickest way so I felt I'd leave it up and see if someone else had a similar need.

make me an offer...

for those who may not have noticed, the PP 040 sold with 'buy it now' at $160 yesterday...being shipped to Australia!

we live on a tiny blue ball...all things are possible!

fyi, there's still a number of other items up with several ending in the next day or so....if you're interested.

Yep - that'd be me - G'day Mate!

I read all the way to the bottom of this thread before I realised that's the card I just bought - hehe  :-D

Small blue ball just got even smaller hey sprocket!!

Now I know where to find ya if the bloody thing don't work! - hehe just kidding....

Funny thing is, a day or so earlier I won an A2630 - it's on it's way from the US too.  Oh well - maybe I can run'em in parallel for a 070 @ 58mhz!  :-?  Now that'd be a bloody unique miggy :-D
