I think the first question is is it anything to do with Amiga's? Second, what the hell is it!? It looks to me as some sort of genlock adapter of sorts. Here's links of what im on about:

Looks to me like a 15 pin Mac to HD15 VGA adapter. It's got switches on it to select the screen resolution that the mac will detect.
No idea what the knob might be for though...

MAybe someone else has got a better idea what this is, name? Who made it? What Macs used it? :-?

I agree with yorgle, this looks exactly like a DB15-to-VGA adapter for older Mac's. My old beige G3 had one of these. I also used a similar one on an LC II.
I don't think it's anything unique or valuable, unfortunately..

I have a db15 to vga adaptor for my older mac, and it has a dial and some switches on it just like that one. I think the switches specify the size of the screen and the dial the resolution or something like that. When I get home I'll dig it up and crack it open.
