Sound Blaster 16 Gameport Woes -- Help
« on: December 07, 2007, 02:54:15 AM »
Hey all,

I have a Sound Blaster 16 ISA and I have a question about the game port. When I hook a controller / game pad to it, doesn't matter what brand, type or style, even joysticks, it does not calibrate what-so-ever. It just stays in the upper left corner, and sometimes stutters all over the screen.

I reluctantly (due to no BASS/TREBLE settings) put in a Sound Blaster Vibra 16 ISA and the game port works perfectly! Calibrates my game pad(s), etc.

Does this mean that there is a possibility that the game port on the Sound Blaster 16 ISA is no longer functional?   :-?

Thanks in advance for any help on this. :-D

I think we can safely say that the card is knackered.
Back away from the EU-SSR!

Thanks for the quick replies, dang that's what I was afraid of... ah well... i'll just have to "live" with this Sound Blaster Vibra 16 until I can find a decent Sound Blaster 16.

Oh by the way AMIGAZ thanks for the link you gave me in my serial mouse thread, the driver works like a charm!
