Bits and pieces
« on: July 16, 2003, 01:34:18 AM »
What software (on Amiga and Win32) would I need to split a big file into chunks on a Windows PC, transfer the pieces on 720k disks to the Amiga, and restore the big file from the chunks there?

I think a version of the Unix-command "split" would do, and then join it all with "join" on AmigaOS. You can find a Win32-native version of split and many other commands here: http://www.weihenstephan.de/~syring/win32/UnxUtils.html
Amiga: Too weird to live, too rare to die.

Hi,

I use sploiner, you can download it from Aminet.
The archive consists of 1 Amiga program and one PC program.

Have fun,

Thanks for that information.. I seem to remember using some programs called Splitz and Joinz a long, long time ago... The Sploiner prog seems to be an interesting alternative. I'll check it out.
