Apple SCSI drives in Amigas

Hi folks,
Does anyone know whether Apple SCSI CD drives, such as those found in older PowerMac's, will work in the same way as a standard SCSI drive on, say a Blizzard IV SCSI interface or a Micronik 6860 Bus board? Or are they custom drives?

If they are SCSI they work.

There's no such thing as "custom SCSI".

I was using a SCSI ripped from an old AV Mac. worked great. no light on it though. very quiet.

they will work fine, but they are obsolete wiht poor performances, and you'll get "APPLE" written for the manufacturer instead of the real one...

I've had a couple of powermac's (8600 and 9600) and ripped the internal ZIP, CD and HD from them. The harddrive (4GB) and CD-ROM drive are working happily together in the A2000. Due to lack of some parts I haven't been able to put the internal ZIP in it as well.

Note however that you must check twice with the adressing and terminating as I've came across bad termination on both Apples.

Thanks for the info.

I think i'll bolt the CD-ROM drive in the spare bay in the A1200T, along with a second SCSI HDD into the 3.5" spare bay, and have them sat there for a rainy month when I can get around to rebuilding the OS :-)
