A1200 Composite Out
« on: November 20, 2007, 04:33:34 PM »
Sorry if this is a stupid question...

But I just noticed on an auction for an A600 that it has color composite out and while I wait on a PSU for my A1200 I want to ask: Is the RCA composite out on the A1200 color?

Yep - it's colour, although I've found the quality of output to be much better on my two A600's than on my A1200 for some reason.

Well from my understanding of production methods they probably were different chips for some reason...

Quite likely it is due to the fact that A1200s have shaky video with a lot of interference from processor and HD activity on all outputs; RGB, RF, CVBS.

Only A500 has monochrome composite out. Yes, even A1000 has color :)

Using an A520 with the RGB out in my 1200 seems to be more stable and sharp than the built-in video-out.

The drawback is when someone bumps the Amiga, then the A520 comes loose and blow out the fuse of the RGB! :headwall:

Then I need to open the 1200 and replace the died resistor (the fuse itself):headwall:

 Now I have a C= 1942 monitor, not to worry about.:-D

Goodbye people.

I\'ll pop on from time to time, RL is acting up.
