Memory issues in Apollo
« on: October 13, 2007, 09:42:56 PM »
Hi, dose anyone know if I need to change a jumper or somthing, or if there is a certain type of sim that works in these cards?

For some reason the highest amount of ram I can use is 8mb. if i use 32mb the system wont boot, it just gurus. If I use 16 it boots so far and then tells me I need the AGA chip set to go any further!

Any ideas?

Hi,

If your Apollo is an  "ACT Elektronik Vertriebs GmbH: Apollo 1230 Turbo Lite (LC)"

see http://amigahardware.mariomisic.de/cgi-bin/showhardware_en.cgi?HARDID=107

"Max Ram: 8MB

Ram Type: 1 x 72pin SIMM slot. (EDO RAM works but is not taken advantage of)

An accelerator which plugs into the trapdoor slot of the A1200. It includes a battery backed up clock.

This card is NOT PCMCIA friendly when more than 4MB of RAM is fitted."

Kind Regards, Michael
