power supply
« on: October 11, 2007, 12:32:25 PM »
I got an external 3,5" HDD case and wish to use its PSU for A590 or maybe AmigaCD32.
Its rated 2A@12V and 2A@5V, would it work?
Better sorry than worry.

I see, thanks for the warning
I've checked the voltages and they are very close to correct values.
BTW, which should be powered first, A500 or A590?
Better sorry than worry.

Well I've done it, I fried A590 by using +12V instead of +5V  :-(  :-(  :-(  :-(
don't know how it happened I did checks.
arrgh what an idiot

So I guess its unrepairable now?

Amiga reports:
514,product 3 OK
514,product 10 BAD

edit: solved thanks to my friend Chain
 :-)
Better sorry than worry.
