But this Amiga -> PS/2 converter, I have a wireless laser mouse that also has a USB -> PS/2, would that work with 2 adapters or will it work for only "pure bread" PS/2 mice? I gather wireless pure PS/2 ones will work ok?

If the mouse works in a PS/2 port, then it will work with the Cocolino, whether it's a mouse with a PS/2 plug on it, or a mouse with a USB plug and a USB->PS/2 adapter (as long as the mouse supports this).

Nice one thanks! Oh and about the dog, best to use it on his/her underbelly. Directions shouldn't matter then as-long as its quick and constant.

If only my cat didn't go missing... :-(

I have a similar age/type Sun Microsystems Optical mouse for my SPARCstation, and guess what... That sucks too! :D

If you want a good mouse either the Wizard Mouse or Logic3 Speedmouse get my vote. Or you could get a Cocolino and use a nice Microsoft Mouse :)

I love the GoldenIMAGE 3-button optical mouse that I got with my A3k, second-hand.  It's got an Amiga/Atari switch on the bottom, so it's not build specifically only for Amiga.

It uses a special mouse pad, but it's not one of those horrible rigid reflector ones (like what I used in Uni on Sun boxes).  It's flexible, grey, with a pattern of dots on it.

I've found that it also works (imperfectly) on denim.

I need to find a mouse solution for the A1200, the original mouse is a bit glitchy these days. Picked upa few "tank" mice for spares. Guess I'll have to look at those PS/2 mouse modding docs on aminet. Have a Commodore branded mouse somewhere, for a PC, got it post Escom bust, think it was some stock they had made up and never got to the stores. Picked it up at a computer fair.

I miss my A3000 pregnant mouse.  But, the Wizzard mouse was pretty good too.  Now I use a cheap Logitech optical which works great.
Time to move on.  Bye Amiga.org.  :(

I used to have an Alfa Data Optical Pen Mouse which was great for working in Deluxe Paint.  Sold it on Ebay for a fiver some months back.  No match for a PS2 optical + adapter though!

I have one of the really old Alpha Data mice that's shaped like a bar of soap.  I love it!  Of course, nobody else in my Amiga club liked it.

THIS one, on the other hand, looks like rubbish.  I can't stand ergonomic mice.

Just got one of them adapters. £15 with a floppy, not exactly cheap for what it is but should be worth while, I hope! :-)

[EDIT] Recived the optical mouse althought it's good enough when it's on the mat but overall it's pretty crap lol.

You're all way off the mark. :-P
Best mouse ever to use on an Amiga is a Microsoft Serial Mouse, re-wired inside. ;-)
I converted mine back in 1992 & was still envious at my best m8's Kidney Shaped Serial conversion. These were the High End MS mice & originally Glossy white. Mine sat in a drawer from 1994 till it was hooked up with an Amiga again in 2006. Quite yellow now but still smooth as silk to use & copes with a 1600 x 1200 Desktop with ease! :-)

Joking aside, everyone has their own prefs, but these converted MS Serials absolutely rock aside from taking the pi$$ out of M$. :-D
Getting 0lder is Mandatory..... Growing up is an option.

Sad to say that I use a Microsoft optical mouse with my systems (except the 3000 which has the standard pregnant mouse)
Back to action!
