A small problem, what do I do?

I have a dead A500 +, and a fully working A2000.
The 2000 has a kick 1.2 in it, and is only worth playing games  using the floppy.

But the 500+ has kick 2.04 and 1 meg chip ram.
The kickstart is easy to put in the A2000. (it should work just fine).  But the chip ram, is it as easy as just to swap the agnus chips, and i have 1 meg chip in a2000.
Or is it a bigger job than that?

Just transplant the Agnus, adjust the jumper settings (deactivate _EXRAM (open J500) and reroute A19: J101-> 2-3) and you're set.

Oh yes: there's no way to put the PLCC Angus into the early German A2000 model (A2000"A").

PPS: Better be extra careful when pulling Agnus - these old sockets tend to be brittle and you'll be sorry when it breaks.

Some simple stuff you may already know but oh well, make sure you take care removing them. Anti-static stuff like wrist bands are recomended ir just toutching metal stuff for a while will do too.
Also flat head screwdrivers on each side of the chip and pull it out at both sides at the same time. If it is still sort-of in the very gently pull it out bit by bit on each side. If any legs bend you can just about get away with it but oviously each time youi bend them you weeken it so try and be careful. You can get one of these special removers on amigakit if desired too.

Top Tip: Just don't let impatience get the better of you. =P

Just touching ground/metal every so often is a common misconception.  I used to subscribe to it too.  

In the last ESD training coarse I attended it was clearly demonstrated that only a few seconds after grounding oneself enough static could easy be generated to fry a transistor (or IC). The static was measured with a static field meter.  I later played with one of these meters myself and strongly agree that just touching ground momentarily is not good enough.  Also you don't have to touch for long to discharge (not a while like you stated, its almost instantaneous).  But you can be back up to a pre-discharge level doing normal movement in seconds.  So if you are not using a strap or holding your metal for the entire duration, then you might as well not worry at all.
