And to get my A2000 to the ECS is priority!

Why is that priority? I thought the main thing that would get you is a bit of a boost in chip RAM... and if you've got a decent accelerator with plenty of RAM on it, what does having a full ECS Agnus get you?

Well it would get me a FULL ECS MACHINE!! Woo Hoo. Not some half OCS/ECS mutant variant Amiga which apparently I now possess. Oh I got another FD today!

In any case it is a chance to open my case and pull out a chip put another in and hopefully not blow it up. And also it will get those other elusive monitor modes to show up. I can't trust a computer that doesn't show me what I know I should see.

Also I need more RAM. If anyone has a RAM expansion daughterboard for the A2630 PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE let me know! (and maybe the rocket to increase my accelerator...)

Man I love mucking about.

Hmmm... I'm skeptical that your missing monitor modes are due to your Agnus chip. I suppose its cheap enough to upgrade it. I don't really see the big deal though. ECS isn't really that different from OCS... not even remotely the improvement AGA is over OCS/ECS.

With the 1200 I have now having a good accelerator with plenty of RAM, an IDE splitter and a flicker fixer, I'm kinda wondering if there's even really a need to keep the 2000 around haha.

The 2630 needs a daughterboard for RAM? Wow, that sucks. Both the accelerators I've had on my 2000 had SIMM slots right on the board.

I'm skeptical too but what the hell.

You could sell your 2000 to Doomy for 500.00$ (american dollars)I'm sure he'd jump right on it. ;)

Yeah I had to get rid of my accelerator that plugs into the 68000 pinout the A2630 popped up so what the heck. Its a slot loader so it means more stuff to look at when I open the case. But it cut down my RAM from 40 Megs to 10MB ( 8 MB + 2 MB chip)... That kind of blew.

If I decide to sell my 2000s (or even just one of them, main reason I havent is shipping something that big is a pain) I'll send you a PM and see if you want one of my accelerators.

Hires Denise has nothing to do with the amount of chip RAM.
To be able to use ECS modes, an ECS Agnus (>=1 MB chip RAM) is also required.
