Team 17 Games available on GOG.COM
« on: January 11, 2012, 10:13:31 PM »
Good Old Games (GOG.COM) announced today that they and Team 17 have come to an agreement to sell Team 17's classic games.  Their flagship picks are Worms United, Alien breed + Tower Assault and Super Frog.

Here is the full article:

For those who do not know about GOG.COM, they sell DRM free classic games at VERY reasonable prices.  They come with their own launchers for modern Windows systems and also have a good amount that work under Linux.

I like GOG because it is also a way to pay for these games legitimately and continue to show support to the game makers.

I should have downloaded them all when they had the games on their site for free...

There is also "Lure of the Temptress" and "Tyrian 2000" that they have for free. ;)

And yes, they are free everywhere but these versions are already setup with their own Dosbox setup so there is no need to tinker to get it to work. :)

I got them all from their website, I think from Dream17 website. It was a nice gesture.

Yup, that's the one.  I downloaded a few, but then got distracted and found it offline when I went back.  Ah, well, time waits for no man :)

I usually get it first then ask myself if I need it. Few more bits on HD won't hurt.

Looked over the site and checked for Mac compatible games, but could not determine if any of them would run on my old G4 PowerBook, while I am waiting for MorphOS3.0 to be released with wireless networking support.

Any idea if those games only work on Intel MacBook's, or if they might also work on a G4 Mac (with or without using VirtualPC)?
How are you helping the Amiga community? :)

If I didn't already have the whdload's and CD32 versions of these games I would download it. Seems a fair enough price once you convert it to GBP :D

They have Wing Commander 3 working on Windows 7!  I've had all sorts of hell getting my old DOS version running on any sort of Windows above '95 without some sort of minor glitch.  That's going in the shopping basket for starters!

Nice, thank you.  I went looking for it a while back and it was down then.  Maybe it was just temporary, but I never went looking again.  Sweet.

(I see what happened: "Unfortunately Ben hasn't been able to pay for the dream17.co.uk domain, so we have bought a new one, dream17.info.")

I'd do the GOG stuff, but I don't play games on my Windows machines.  But if Team17 gets a bit of the sale, perhaps I could play a couple if only to show support.
