Looks like it is mostly an Intel / Microsoft sponsored event (= no fun) for PC demos, possibly not interesting to most people here!  ;-)

Been to a about 100 parties and more in my scenecareer, could you educate me why this party couldnt be fun eventhough MS is sponsoring it?

Well Assembler is sponsored by Microsoft so its not who sponsor it its what the comps are... and there is no retro stuff there at all, this makes me sad. :-( (Actually it doesnt tbh, they can have whatever comps they want, just means I wouldnt even think of going)

On a much more interesting note, Sundown's date has been announced (Sundown = UK's only(?) demoscene event) and they are putting together a list of comps now.

Who thinks they should add a novice demoscener comp, like build an entry from a template/modules.. that would be cool, we could get a group of a.org novices together ;-)

Hmm Ive gone a bit OT...
Nope Im not going to Evoke. There fixed.

Assembler

I presume you meant Assembly.

Granted most have laptops with them these days, but I've also seen C64s and Amigas every year, and those systems were actively used for gaming and stuff. Actual compoentries are mostly developed on laptop + emulator though, just because it's so much handier than dragging the actual old system around.

You seem to suggest that the organizers should limit the attendance or compos somehow? No PC compos at all or? Because if you're talking about retro compos, there are oldskool compos at Assembly.

Amiga Demo has won the Assembly combined demo compo several times too, the last time was 2006 with Starstruck by TBL.

Regarding Evoke, I'm afraid it's just Assembly for me this year (yet again).

Nope, Im just saying that I would not visit something that just has PC/Mac entries, I like seeing C64 stuff etc.. hence the "they can have whatever comps they want, just means I wouldnt even think of going)" bit.
I wasnt having a go, honest  :-?

There will be LOTS of amiga users and C64 freaks around!
Like every demo party :)

The C64 and Amiga scene is NOT dead.
