DMS File converting to real Amiga disk
« on: July 22, 2007, 02:11:56 AM »
I have an A2000 and am trying like the dickens to get the DMS driver files I need for my accelerator to uncompress to a disk so I can run them on my Amiga 2000. Basically I need to know what program I use on the Amiga to decompress them to a floppy. Or if there is a WinXp program I can use to write them to my floppy drive. I currently use a floppy and format to 720k to get the files to my amiga.

I downloaded DMS111.run but was unable to get it to work on the amiga. Any help would be very nice.

I use DMS, it works fine. What problems did you have with it? Just run the dms11.run (its a self-extracting archive) and install the dms program in C/ or wherever, put a floppy in the drive, and do:

    dms write koolwarez.dms

(Pretty sure its "dms write"... but if you run dms it will show you help)

A google search for "dms11.run" brings in one site that has no link.

Assuming the software is available to the public could someone post a link?

I found a DMS111.run that would not work on my Amiga. Or is a there a different way to launch something with WB 3.1?

How are you trying to run DMS111.run?  Are you using the shell?  Copy the file to RAM: and run it in a shell from there.
Going Bananas over AMIGAs since 1987...

Looking for Fusion Fourty PNG ROMs V3.4?

Hey hamtronix: Glad to hear you got it working, but you might
want to look for DMS WB version 3.12, not sure where I got
it from, but, as always...check Aminet. Also, DMS2HD from Aminet,
not the best, but will (mostly) let you unpack .DMS files directly
to your HD....
