Having trouble logging in...
« on: June 25, 2003, 04:04:44 PM »
Something odd happened recently.  I tried logging on to Amiga.org website with my A2000 as I usually do, and to my surprise, recieved an incorrect login message.  Can't remember doing anthing different lately with my Amiga that would change anything.  Using my wife's PC I have no trouble logging in.  Any ideas from anyone?  I much prefer to use the Amiga for web browsing over the PC. :-?

Mozilla Firebird does the same thing - says "Incorrect Login" but still logs you in. :-?

---edit---

I don't have this problem on another XOOPS based site.

it did that to me a few days ago (when i was still Tickly), it wouldn't let me log in. I tried again later that day and it was fine again.

That was in IB2.3, i think. I remember thinking it was odd, as IB usually works fine.

Ive found the way around that is to force a proper reload or to clear the browser cache. What happened to me was that a cached version of the page was being loaded every time I finished logging in, and unfortunately it was the error page.

Hate figure. :lol:

Oh right. It might be an idea to mark the login error page as non-cacheable.

Thanks to you all for helping.  I'll try clearing the cache.

@red

Sorry not to elaborate, it's an A2000 with '060, os3.9, using miami and aweb-apl.  Worked fine, then like Tickly said, not working.

@red again

You seem to be right on, got something to do with the browser, just tried the demo version of aweb that came with 0s3.9 and logged on just fine.  I'll keep looking for what's wrong and let you know what happens.  Thanks again!

I'll let you know what happened if I can figure this one out.  Right now, I'm using AWeb3SE and logged on just fine.  Keep you all posted.  Regards, Art
