speedwise, is there something that will benefit from the G4?

MOS 1.5 was said to have altivec support, 3 years ago. Now I think altivec will still be around when MOS 2.0 gets released.
Altivec will creatly enhance everything that uses vector operations like Mplayer, Mencoder etc. Also Atlivec was the only reason that OS 4 was constantly higher than MOS in the DC-net stats...
The new Megadeth album rules!

Actually MorphOS was constantly higher than AmigaOS (in RC5-72, where altivec has some real impact). OGR-P2 hybrid core has some benefit aswell, but nowhere as much as with RC5-72.

I assume since you're using past tense, you're speaking about RC5-72 which got cancelled by RSA recently.

G4 is much nicer than G3 IMO, but that's just my personal opinion. For E-UAE as fast as possible CPU is preferable.

We have a deal with Keropi, who sent PM on Amiga.org.
All of my incoming emails seem to have been delayed by at least a day, so I couldn't respond to Matthias an R.T., who sent me email, on time.

Don't get scared if the picture doesn't appear on the monitor immediately after pressing power switch. I think it took about ten seconds, if not more.
I will probably be out of reach of email/pmail for about one or two weeks starting from wednesday.
