UFO enemy Unknown on Win-UAE/Amiga Forever
« on: June 14, 2007, 11:59:08 PM »
Hi there all, sorry im not sure if this is the right place or not. However.....

Im running Win-UAE/Amiga Forver and trying to get UFO enemy Unknown running from harddrive (its taken from the old Amiga Format cover CD).

So the game installs fine on the harddrive, but when I try and load the game, its tries to get started, but comes back
with somthing like =

"Failed return code 20  Unable to generate screen mode" or
words to that effect.

I know that getting games to run can be quite difficult,
just was wondering if anyone had come accross the same
probs, and had any ideas solutions??  Thanks in advance for
any help or advice.

Just did a vanilla install of Amiga Forever.

(Amiga is detecting HD's of larger than 4GB from within the
emulator dunno if this is creating any probs...? Dunno just
a random thought) + Tried running nearly every sreen mode
available from the list within the emulator, without any
joy.

PC setup is Standard Win-XP / P4 /  1 GB of ram.

Cheers Everybody.

Try to increase the emulated RAM size and/or check  this.

UFO (Enemy Unknown) was/is one of my favorite Amiga games.  I had it running (slowly) on a past WinUAE, or EUAE install a couple of years ago, but I can't remember which or if I was having any troubles with the screen switches when it changes from the combat map to the world map, etc.

I'll try to see what I can dig up and remember and get back to you.  I wouldn't mind playing a bit of UFO myself right now.

How are you helping the Amiga community? :)
