LOL! Welcome back Starke.

That's what I was thinking, except Meth's seems slightly less nutty, like a Starke who's been taking (most of) his meds.

Seriously, writing a few emails isnt going to change anything.

I suspect Ainc is presently very busy...

...trying to look like a competent company in light of oncoming legal challenges?  Dont be too disappointed when its over, if normal in-activity resumes. :-P

Following over 18 months of unproductive negotiations with Amiga Inc. through our management and attorneys, we welcome the opportunity to finally present our case in a court of law which was regrettably the only remaining avenue after Amiga Inc. repeatedly and consistently stonewalled any attempt to resolve the outstanding issues (including the “Party Pack” and “I am Amiga Club” voucher schemes and the failure to acknowledge the intellectual property rights of third party developers) through mediation and binding arbitration.

Exactly... Anyone expecting anything more really should look back over the past 7 years.

Now more than ever people should be wanting to take control of the Amgia platform for themselves.. the option is there, true it's recently had a slight name change (which might confuse a few people), but it's there and everyone is free use it!!! :-D

I agree that Open source is really the only viable option for a hobby platform.  However, AROS* simply isn't ready yet and there is a lot of software missing (And I'm not talking OpenOffice/FireFox here).  Things are most certainly improving, but there is still some way to go.

Having said all that there is a possibility that there might be an interesting AROS-related development later on in the year.

As an OS it's pretty much there now... just wating on Michal's OHCI driver, really...

Perhaps an Audit of what software is needed would a good idea?

You know it ;-)

I expect AROS to really gain momentum once the PPC and 68k versions are publicly available... thus allowing anti x86 users to enjoy it :-)

I don't even know if I still have the email address from the $50 coupon days. Don't remember what I was using back then.

And I'd be curious to know how serious this is. If Amiga Inc. is setting the proce of the system, they could choose the price they want to sell it for, claim it's worth $50 more than that, and in the end get exactly the price they wanted in the first place. And get $50 additional from people who don't have a coupon but lack any other shopping options. Wooooooo!

His job here is done. He's currently resurrecting some other dead platform, I heard.

And last, but so not least, ow about the people who spent a grand on a shoddy motherboard, but now, they don't get their copy of OS4 until Amiga, Inc. who sues for it, neverminding the fact that Amiga, Inc. claims  in their lawsuit, that the motherboard you bought from one of their partners through a "license", isn't an "Amiga One" anymore.

So, they sold you product you could never use.

the solution to that last matter is relatively simple...

/me points to "amiga os4 developer prerelease.iso" on tah interweb

i certainly would've done that by now...despite any anti-piracy tendencies i might have

Well, no I didnt get an E-Mail!

Then again I have probibly changed my E-Mail address several time since giving AInc my $50.00 as well as buying the ¨Party Pack¨.

Can´t find my original E-Mail from them with my login details and havent visited the site for a few years now.

Oh well, will see if I can get an answer if I E-mail someone at AInc. (Boy am I an optimist).

Ciao,
Trev Daley.

Methuselas,
Quote
All I said was that I sent Bill McEwen my proposal, today and that may have had something to do with the emails being sent out. It could be *VERY* coincidental that the email went out the same day as my business proposal, which is why I said "I hope I'm not wishful thinking".

So whatever became of this, whatever it was?
