Finally AmigaNG?

Wow! Can it really be true? Did someone finally build your next Amiga?

Low cost, low power, reasonable performance and FPGA for chipset compatibility!

This could be the One!

Doesn't give exact $ as it's only shipping to commercial customers at the moment. But the site does say:

"One of the main features of the PowerPC 440EP is the presence, together with the CPU, of a number of integrated peripherals. This allows us to build a complete system with a huge savings of both development and debug time, with less components and space used on the PCB. This also results in a significant cost reduction for the customer."

So I can only assume that at worst, it will be reasonably priced.

Old news mate. The existence of SAM has been known for quite a while.

Nevertheless, it could be a very nice little system when it has a decent OS. Well, apart from Linux of course, which seems to run on any machine with a CPU nowadays (I wonder if my Miele washing machine could run Linux....)

ACube, the manufacturers of Sam440 EP entered in co-operation with Hyperion, which is the developer of AmigaOS 4.0.

Then they asked Amiga Inc. permission to bundle AmigaOS 4.0 with Samantha.

As answer Amiga Inc. sued Hyperion and announced they will partner ACK for the release of new hardware.

Amiga Inc. had Hyperion which realized a good OS, ACube which realized Samantha which said they will grant the needed royalties to be oayed to Amiga Inc., but Bill Mc ewen preferred far better to get all the cake!

A very sad situation indeed!
