CM345S Scan Doubler Display Quality Issues
« on: May 17, 2007, 02:38:25 AM »
I have a Cypress CM345S attached to an NTSC A1200.  I have observed the following on two displays after booting off an Amiga OS 3.1 floppy.

Display 1:  Samsung SyncMaster 940MEW LCD via the VGA in Port (1024x768 mode)

*  Horizontal color banding of the solid gray background
*  Flickering of dithered fill areas, very noticable on system icons like "ScreenModes"

Display 2: Viewsonic 15" VGA CRT (1024x768 mode)

* No horizontal color banding
* Dithered fill areas were shimmering

I'm trying to determine if the flickering/shimmering is producded by the CM345S or might possibly be due to a bad cable.  Have other peope observed this same behavior on ther CM345s?  It was present in any video mode I tried  Other than this issue, the device works very well.

Thanks,
Bubba
