WHDLoad can't install
« on: March 25, 2007, 09:29:22 AM »
Hi, I've been having real problems with using this, please can anyone help.

Using UAE for the moment, I've freshly installed workbench 3.1. Then un archived the WHDLoad files. I can't get the install to run. When I double click the installer I get the error 'Unable to open your tool 'installer''.

Please can anyone advise???

Thanks, Rick.

I think this is the program you want:
http://aminet.net/package/util/misc/Installer-43_3

If you find thast something needs an external library or program, you should check aminet, because most can be found there.

Copy installer from your WB Install disk to the C drawer on your HD.

This problem has been discussed many many times before; please use the magnificent search function of this forum to find answers before asking them.

I bet you run into the next question soon. How do I install a game with WHDLoad. We're glad to help; that question has been covered many times before too. So with using search you get your answers even sooner!

I only use real Amigas myself and have no problems with the brilliant WHDLoad. But I'm curious as to whether people using WinUAE can actually put an original Amiga game disk in the floppy drive of a PC, and then use a WHDLoad installer to install it?

Is it also correct that in WinUAE the program WHDLoad can use ADF files?

A lot of original games disks show as 'DF0:Uninitialized' when inserted and cannot be made into ADF files. So can WinUAE users play these games?
