WHDLOAD back to floppy
« on: March 26, 2007, 09:43:22 PM »
A while back after purchasing a hard drive for my A500, I used WHDLOAD to convert most of my games on floppy.

I no longer have most of those floppies; what I would like to do is to write them back to floppy, in the original format, from the files stored on my hard drive. Is this possible?

Thanx in advance, guys.

I don't think the WHDLoad disk images are in their original format, so no they won't boot even if you could write them back.

Might work if they aint copy protected i suppose (but most of them probably are). You could try adf2disk.

I don't see why not. In most cases the floppy disks are stored as adf images in the WHDLoad installation. So why not just use a adf->floppy utility like TransADF?

because of copy protection, IIRC the so called 'slave' program is needed.
when you make image of copy protected floppy you cant write it back and make perfect copy without some expensive hardware, take a look at  *.ipf FAQ page.
Better sorry than worry.
