Anyone got a ZIII serial card to spare for a modest price?
« on: December 31, 2006, 11:13:12 PM »
Its for my A3000D. Hopefully, I can get this thing online cheaply enough.

If you have a Buster rev11 chip too, I would be VERY apreciative!

Thanks.

I don't think anyone ever released a Zorro 3 card that had serial ports on it. o.o Just Z2 ones, which will work fine in your system of course.

Ok, got a reply finally. A guy by the name of Steve Kane is giving me a choice of:

Quote
I have 2 excellent serial cards, the A2232 (7 port serial) and the Multiface III (2 serial / 1 parallel).
The A2232 is boxed, with all items.
The MF-III has the disk, manual, and maybe the box.

I looked in the Big Book, and i'm not sure about the A2232, I don't need that many Serial ports, and seems a little slow.

A nice choice that I've seen, is the VarIO card. Since its got  a clockport, and theres a couple of additions I'm thinking of using it for. Plus, having a waranty is good for a bit of insurance.

Any recomendations from anyone who has used them? Thanks.

Have you checked eBay? There was a MultiFace card on there very recently in an eBay store for around $9.95. It has been there for a while. Might be worth checking out...

I'd go with the MultifaceIII card, rock solid.

Hmmm could you hook me up with that steve guy? I might be interested in the A2232. (via PM please)

In your case; the multiface is the better of the two; supporting higher speeds.
I my case: the A2232 is supported by Amiga Unix :)
