Diskdoctor ADF & Go 64

Hi,

Got a few A500 software issues:

Diskdoctor:

Got some old Amiga disks giving me an error message to use Diskdoctor to repair the disk structure.  

Does any1 know where to find this programm?  My old disk is not longer working.  I still have diskcraft, but I have no idea how to use this?  Is this a similar prog?


Go64:

Got this programm working fine, but I have no idea to get a game up and running.

Is there any possibility to write C64 roms to an A500 disk or to A500 RAM?  Can I use the A500 disk drive anyway?

Diskdoctor was a useless CLI command included with OS1.x. Using that you had as much chance saving a corrupted disk as by putting it into a microwave.

Disksalv on the other hand might be of some use, it's on aminet.

Yeah stay away from disk doctor.... Event he folks at Commodore did not use this... very bad.... I think it was nicknamed disk distructor

Ah, the joys of disks named "Lazarus"! :-)

Agreed, DiskDoctor is pretty useless... Though I do remember using it a couple of times with limited success back in the 1.x days, way before I had any sort of Internet access or knew of DiskSalv...

I've only ever found 'QuarterBack Tools' to be of any help to floppy disks. You can set it to scan both reads/writes and it puts a file on the disk called 'bad.blocks'. The Amiga knows not to try to use those blocks again. You may get a small reduction in the capacity of the disk of course  :-)
