ISO Multisync LCD Monitor for Amiga recommendations
« on: December 29, 2006, 05:21:51 PM »
Hi All,

My NEC Multisync II is dying.  After it's been on awhile, it starts getting fuzzy/out of focus.  3 questions for everyone:

1) Can anyone recommend a good CRT repair shop around the USA, preferrably around the Chicago metro area?

2) Can anyone recommend a multisync LCD that can sync to all Amiga AGA resolutions?

3) I've got the ToasterScan (sp?) from Software Hut that's actually made by Individual Computers.  It does excellent scan doubling for the 15 kHz modes, but in the bypass modes of Multiscan Productivity, et al, it appears washed out on the LCD screen I'm using and doesn't help with modes that are Flicker.  Is this experienced by others or do I have a bad ToasterScan?

In desperation, I bought a new 17" LCD screen from Fry's Electronics for US $179 + IL state & local tax with a US $70 rebate to come in 12 weeks.  Was this a good price?
It doesn't do all the AGA modes, obviously.  I couldn't get a full screen display for my Multiscan Productivity modes & had to change them all to Super72.

In a world without walls and fences, who needs Windows and Gates?

The issue you're getting in productivity mode is normal though. I recently was testing a MV1200 external sd/ff on my a1200 and I got the same washed out screen on productive modes.

I took a picture because I was asking about exactly the same problem.. So don't worry, your scandoubler aint faulty :)
