inside an A1000
« on: August 24, 2008, 03:25:09 AM »
...so, I've got my A1000 open and apart installing a ram expansion. Laying on the motherboard was a jumper shunt. After looking at the mobo and pics of other A1000 mobos, I can't seem to find the jumper pins where this shunt came from.  Does go anywhere?

Shezz, I thought getting inside an A3000D was tough.
After dismantling the unit, it appears that the jumper shunt does not go to the A1000 mobo. Not sure how it got under the daughter card except that maybe it fell off the ram expansion and bounced under while I was test fitting the card.

A1000 is easy enough to get into, tedious I agree but not that hard.

A1000 is my favourite miggy, that whirring fan is so soothing sitting next to any jet engined PC rubbish

It is currently open and waiting for DJBases's Kickstart Adapter. There looks to be enough space under the Insider 1000 ram expansion. Will post some pics when completed.
